falling in Love with AIKIDO

Falling in Love with AIKIDO is a film by Helen Hamada, who trained at Woodstock Aikido for many years. A portion of the film was shot at Woodstock Aikido and features our students and teachers. Helen introduces the film this way:

For over 25 years, I practiced the Japanese martial art of Aikido in Woodstock, NY, frequently 5-7 times a week. Often, I traveled to attend seminars both domestically and internationally to learn from accomplished instructors. Given my own dedication and passion for practicing aikido, I became curious and set out to discover what’s so great about Aikido? Why do people dedicate so much of their life to the art, (as did I), spending several days a week training, arranging their jobs, their relationships, their families, their vacations, just about every aspect of their life around training? This film covers the period 2001-2010, during which time I interviewed various teachers in my lineage, many of whom were trained by O’Sensei, (the founder), fellow practitioners from my home dojo and at seminars around the US and Europe.
